It's a whopper!

Last weekend we attended a 90th birthday reception for my husband's aunt. It was a grand affair at her church with lots of friends and family. A real celebration! One of those in attendance was a woman who had worked for his aunt for many, many years. When she saw my husband she teased him saying he never brought her any fish like he promised. He just laughed and said he would bring them to her this week. Friday was the first chance we had to make good on his promise. Thank goodness the fish were biting!!

Here's the stringer with my catch. Notice two of them are rather large. We each use our own stringer so one of us doesn't have to miss out on fishing while stringing the other's fish! How competitive is that?!

This might be the largest fish I've ever caught. We didn't have a "de-liar" with us but I think it was five pounds or better!

I really looked rough in these photos so I cropped my head out, but you can still see my fancy rubber boots!

WOW!! That's the big one...that did NOT get away!

I knew those boots would attract fish!

Amazing! I´m sure your boots will also be perfect for catching rainbow trout ;D

You are So cute...I'm thinking you're working up to replacing the picture of the cow. I am looking forward to your getting a head shot! I'm not disparaging the very queenly cow, of course. Great fish picture too!

Wow, Kelly. Makes me want to go fishing and I wouldn't mind frying up a batch either.

Holy Crap, Kelly!!!! That some BIG FISH!! I'm ultra-impressed. Makes my mouth water. Way to go. Blessings!

PS: I knew that was you because of those psychedelic boots. :-)

I decapitate my pics all the time! Congratulations on the catch.

Linda - my husband DID have one get away that he would probably say was larger.

Dorte - I'll have to learn to flyfish for those (I think). I can tie a fly, though.

Pam, Bob - Thanks. I'm pretty proud of them. :) Makes you want to come fish next Spring, doesn't it, Bob!

Jenny - Oh, there are some pix of me somewhere on my blog. I just like my cow pic... and her name really is Kelly.

Laney - Do you ever fish in y'all's pond?

Vic - You're just jealous.

Marion - You make me blush!

Jen - Decapitation is often the wisest choice, especially in my case. :)

Great boots!

I've always wanted to fish, but still haven't had the opportunity! Looks like you are an expert!

Wouldn't it be nice if we could cut off our heads when we look a bit rough in real life too? :D

A whopper indeed. Not uncommon for me to take photos of feet but I have to say I've usually been aiming for head shots. Thanks for the laugh Kelly.

Quid - I'm glad I provided some entertainment for you. :)

LLCoolJoe - Definitely not an expert, but I'm learning! I just started bass fishing a couple of years ago. That was partly so I wouldn't have to deal with live bait! The only kind I'll touch is shiners (minnows)!

Tracy - My husband was manning the camera and told me he wasn't sure he could get it without my head. I just told him not to worry that I could edit that out myself! Besides....the fish is supposed to be the focus of the shot!!

Nice boots. Poor fish. Fun post.
Your final photo is a great shadow shot.

All the best, Boonie

Boonie - awww..don't make me feel guitly about the fish! They gave their lives for a good cause.

Betty - My goal is to catch one even bigger!! I know they're out there!

You gotta be rough to bring in a fish like that.

Jenners said...

Yikes! That is one big fish!

Debby said...

Probably your perk boots that drew them in....

Lucky you took pictures, otherwise we'd have assumed we were hearing one of those ubiquitous fish stories.

Alg - Rough barely covers it!

Jenners - Not big enough. I have hopes for one even bigger!

Debby - I learned when I took up fishing to document everything!
