Pumpkin Spice Chai

Most of you know that I love my tea. I'm always open to trying new varieties, whether loose tea or bagged, my only real preference being black rather than herbal or green (or white, or oolong). I guess I like my caffeine.

Here's a variety that I found for the first time this fall. Perfect for the holiday season!

Vanilla Caramel Truffle Tea

I haven’t made many blog entries here about tea, but those of you who followed my now defunct 360 blog know I enjoy my “tea time”. It started out as an occasional comfort thing and has developed into a regular daily ritual.

Thanks to sites like
Stash and Twinings and to gifts from friends and family, I’ve been able to try a wide variety of teas, both loose and bagged. I have my favorites that I always keep on hand, but it’s fun experimenting and seeing what else is out there.

I’ve always associated brands like Lipton and Luzianne with iced tea more than hot. Lipton has several varieties of flavored black tea and a friend suggested I try the Vanilla Caramel Truffle. It is wonderful!! Its sweet aroma and flavor almost puts it more in the category of a dessert tea, but I enjoy drinking it any time of the day.

If you are a tea drinker and can find this variety at your local store, give it a try!

Green Tea

Green tea is good for you! For awhile it was all the rage and I really tried to like it. It just didn’t happen for me. Give me a nice cup of black tea or the occasional oolong instead.

I like experimenting with different varieties of tea and have several places I order from. About a year ago I received an order from Stash which included a couple of bags of loose green tea I had not ordered. In correcting the error they allowed me to keep the tea at no cost. The bags sat in the back of a drawer until I recently came across them again and decided to see if my tastes had changed.

I don’t know if it was really a change in taste or just a more appealing blend, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s called “Tea of a Thousand Charms” and is a blend of Huo Mountain Yellow Sprouting, Young Hyson Gunpowder, Mao Feng and Dragonwell. Not something I want every day, but I’ll certainly finish what I have. I haven’t tried the other bag which is “Gunpowder Green”.

Pictured here is my new Lotus Blossom teacup with its own infuser and lid.

Relax. Have a cup of tea.

What kind of tea are you?

Those of you who have followed my blog in the past know how much I enjoy my cup (or two or three) of tea each day. I had to share this blogthing when I saw it!

You Are Black Tea

You have a bold personality. You're not afraid of simply being yourself.

You have the courage to speak the truth. You are fearless in your actions.

You come off as a bit intimidating and unapproachable. Only confident people are attracted to you.

You don't try to scare off anyone. You're just an intense person!

Tea for Tuesday

It's been awhile since I've brewed any of the "flowering tea" from my Numi Bouquet Selection. In the past, I tried some of the white and green varieties. Since I really prefer black tea, today I chose "Black Beauty". The flavor was quite good!! Here's how Numi describes it:

Black Beauty's finest golden-tipped black tea leaves unravel, lifting up like the spires of a cathedral. Its amber liquor releases a bold deep flavor and rose scent.
