Making my way through the ups and downs of life, holding fast to my favorite Bible verse: "For we walk by faith, not by sight." ~2 Corinthians 5:7.
I began blogging in earnest at Yahoo360 on October 24, 2005. (briefly using LiveJournal and blog-city prior to that) In June 2008 I moved to Blogger. I'm now at WordPress where I hope to remain.
A pretty devious little animal to develop such a strategy for a survival den. Especially considering we took an unconscionably long time to do the same for a single family unit.
It is amazing how they construct these lodges. Have you ever been able to watch them build one? It would be most interesting to see it "go up". Have a great week, Kelly. Mickie :)
Thanks for all your comments! It's pretty neat having stuff like this right at my house (almost).
Vince - It's amazing how much underwater structure (including several entrances) there is.
Mickie - We currently have three (only one occupied that I know of) in our pond right now. They put them up very quickly so it seems almost like it happens overnight!
Dorte - When they're actually living in one they pack a lot of mud on it. Talk about messy!
We saw one while fishing just the other day and it warned us with a couple of good smacks of its tail on the water. Amazing how loud!!

These structures never fail to amaze me, thanks for another superb Sunday shadow shot Kelly.
Wow the amount of work that must go into building that! Amazing!

Dam!! LOL! Great shot, Kelly!

Looks like those beavers have been busy. They created quite a lodge there. And, gave you a great picture to share!

It´s so funny to see their rather messy bundles of sticks - they almost make me feel MY home is neat and tidy (thank you, beavers).
