Making my way through the ups and downs of life, holding fast to my favorite Bible verse: "For we walk by faith, not by sight." ~2 Corinthians 5:7.
I began blogging in earnest at Yahoo360 on October 24, 2005. (briefly using LiveJournal and blog-city prior to that) In June 2008 I moved to Blogger. I'm now at WordPress where I hope to remain.
I quit reading Harry Potter after the first 2 or 3 because Cara was old enough that I didn't feel the need to screen her reading for discussion purposes. I do love Jane Austen. I have never watched a James Bond movie. Unfortunately, I do resort to Facebook, because it is the best way to keep track of things. But can anyone tell me what it means when someone 'answers a question about you' on Facebook?
I've never read the Harry Potter books. Never read the "Left Behind" series. Never watched a JB film all the way through. Never watched soap operas. I never watch "reality" shows (I have too much reality of my own!) Just this past week began texting.
Not a fan of James Bond. Didn't read HP books, despite the urging of my daughter, my sister, AND my niece. Only appreciated Jane Austen in middle age. Have a Facebook page but am negligent about posting anything.
Yep, you are all alone. LOL! NOT! Be yourself and damn what others think!
If it weren't for Facebook, I'd never know the innermost thoughts of my family. It scares the hell out of me, but we have a blast there. I've reconnected with old friends from my childhood and cousins I haven't seen in 40 years! I love Facebook.
I read the first 2 Potters, then got bored with it. I love the films made from Austen's books, but not the books and I can't imagine not having seen my favorite Bond movie, "Goldfinger" with my favorite character of all time, Pussy Galore. LOL! xoxo
Debby - How fun! A club!! I'm hoping someone will answer your FB question.
WhiteStone - I was guilty of soap operas when I was in college. ABC had the best! As for texting - I'd much rather do that than have to call someone.
Bragger - We do have the HP books (my husband wanted them) and a collection of Jane Austen. I may get around to both eventually. Too much other good stuff to read for now!
Pamel - That's okay. I still love you. :)
Marion - Though I've never watched a JB all the way through, I have seen the first 15 minutes or so of "Live and Let Die" several times. I love the French Quarter funeral!!

I have anti-social tendencies which is one reason I avoid FB. However, I always said I'd never do Twitter and I now do that on a limited basis.
Well, I love Jane Austen and I liked Harry Potter, but to be honest I think a person could live very well without knowing about James Bond or facebook. I enjoy my facebook page for two reasons, though. First of all, I got in touch with cousins I had not met for ages. Second, it is a useful tool for writers (and I am not exactly rich or famous enough to ignore these obvious opportunities yet).
Hmmmm...I've done all these things (with reading Austen being the very last one I marked off) so you may very well be alone. Do yourself a favor and read the Harry Potter books though! They are fantastic!
(And I personally think you could skip the Bond films and the Facebook page and miss nothing.)

We have a kinship!
P'raps we should make a club, and use Kelly's questions as a screening tool for new memebers?
Sorry Sis, I've done or do all of the above. :)

Yes you are! ;)

i can totally relate to that list, Kelly.
i think we have similar tastes on those things.
hope your weekend is going super!
betty xx
Dorte - I can certainly appreciate your usage of FB as a writer's tool. That makes perfect sense.
Jenners - I figure I'll get to HP before I do Austen.
Betty - I'm glad you could relate to my list. :)
How about 3out of 4?
I admit to having a facebook page, but only for my blog use.
Have read all of Harry Potter.
Have read all of Jane Austen...multiple times.
Suggest that you make Jane a priority before Harry!
Saw every James Bond movie. Good fun! Preferred Sean Connery to the others.
As you know, I'm a Facebook hold out. Something to do with my profession. Think I'll be OK with out it as long as I text!
quid
Wanda - It's nice to know I'm not alone in all of these!
Quid - From the snippets of Bond movies I've seen, I agree that Sean Connery is the man. Definitely!
Well I've read Jane Austen & have a FB page but you're certainly not alone on the other two :D
