Ponderings #3

First, let me state something for the record. I do not believe in reincarnation.

But......if I did, I think I know what I might have been in a former life:

A monk in a
scriptorium!

I came to this conclusion while working the crossword puzzle one morning. I spent hours in college hunched over a drafting table with pencil in hand (the same pencil that I still use to work the crossword each day) printing the alphabet. I still get a sense of satisfaction in filling the puzzle grid with neatly printed letters.

Give it some thought. Any ideas what you might have been?

Most definitely royalty. Probably a Queen or Princess. Or maybe even a Witch since I love herb gardening so much. :-)

Great post! Today's the first time I could access your blog all week!

Blessings,
Marion

OOH, a hard one, what would I have been? I'm trying desperately to think of something funny here. Perhaps then I would have been a (not very good) court jester in the palace of Queen Marion. Next life I'm coming back as a cat though, an elderly ladies cat, I'll sit by the fire all day being stroked behind the ears - bliss.

I was either a therapist or a teacher. It's also possible I was a master gardener.

Or I could have been a garden gnome. :)

If you ever want to read a book about a person who works in a scriptorium, I'd recommend "The Gargoyle."

And I don't think I've ever thought about this. Perhaps a princess? : )

Sounds like we have the beginnings of a story here: Queen Marion and Princess Jenners being entertained by Tracy the Jester. Then we have Pamel the garden gnome, I mean gardener in the courtyard! Meanwhile, I'm laboring away in the scriptorium.

Jenners - I've had that book on my shelf for quite some time. Perhaps I'll read it for RIP this year.

An Eraser!

Good thought provoking post!

It was weird but I even did my math homework in Ink. I just can't stand the way a pencil writes. But I'm learning to use them again!

John - I love using pencils, but I prefer mechanical with HB lead. You can fit into our story as the eraser in my scriptorium since I'll be using a pencil instead of ink. My manuscripts won't be illuminated.
