Brrrr!!

Once again, despite having snow in our forecast, we ended up with the nasty stuff instead.  We did get a dusting of sleet and snow overnight, but most of today we've had freezing rain and mist.  Our temperature has stayed below freezing all day so thankfully the precipitation never got heavy enough to cause much damage. (In other words, we still have power!)

Here are some photos I took on my walk to the mailbox.

We didn't get snow, either. Just ice.

That is a great shot of the icicles hanging from the leaves. Nice.

I do love the photos, but I'm sorry you didn't get any snow this round. I don't look forward the melting aftermath in the backyard ...with the dogs. Yuck!

Wow, I was holding my breath here too. All we got was rain, rain, and more rain. We're waterlogged!

Excellent photos. Thanks. I can remember that freezing rain was awful.
You might be pleased to know that our weather is warming up right now – it’ sunny and warm all day every day.

All the best, Boonie

Is that a rhododendron I see down there? Poor thing!

Great pictures, but I am glad it´s not quite as cold here. It may come back, though.

I remember a couple of ice storms down in those parts where we were iced in an without power.

The ice on the trees is beautiful, especially when the sun comes out, but man, can it wreak havoc. Hope things have warmed up today.

Jenners - You folks up in NJ have really had a hard winter!

Boonie - Are you trying to make me jealous? If so, it's working!

Dorte - I'm afraid I'm not good with plants so I'm not sure what we have (other than our azaleas and a few other flowering shrubs). I've noticed my European friends have been a little warmer lately.

Bob - We're in the upper 30s today, thank goodness, but it's supposed to dip well below freezing again next week. Grr!

Kelly, I wish I could enjoy your photos because they are really pretty. I am however pretty sick of winter. Your mentioning your walk to the mailbox made me remember how many mailboxes were laying alongside the road today. I guess they were the victims of the snow plows.

We had temps above freezing this afternoon but still snow came down. Strange.

We have both snow and ice. I have a forsythia bush just covered with ice, but I do not want to stand outside in frigid temps and take pics. lol Yours are lovely. I can enjoy yours instead.
