This month's iPod Roulette was especially fun using my new Bose docking station. It really does enhance the listening experience!
Given there are more than 3500 songs on my iPod, I don't know why I think I'm going to get a true sampling in just 15 picks. For what it's worth, here's what I came up with this month. Do any of these appeal to you?
1. Stoned Love (The Supremes) - My husband loves Motown, especially groups like this one.
2. Angelsea (Cat Stevens) - From my favorite Cat Stevens album, Catch Bull at Four.
3. Everybody Wants to Rule the World (Tears for Fears) - Another great album, Songs from the Big Chair.
4. My Burdens Have Rolled Away (Melody Boys Quartet) - This group was a lot of fun to see in person. Good old "Southern Gospel".
5. Bach: French Suite #4 in E Flat, BWV 815 1. Allemande (Glenn Gould) - Piano at its best.
6. Here I Am to Worship (Michael W. Smith) - I love his "praise & worship" music, especially this song.
7. Eyesight to the Blind (The Who) - From the rock opera, Tommy.
8. Nature Boy (George Benson) - Finally some jazz!
9. Duchess (Genesis) - This album (Duke) is best listened to from start to finish.
10. Ain't No Sunshine (Kris Allen) - Season 8 American Idol winner.
11. In the Still of the Night (The Five Satins) - I would have sworn this was by someone else! Perhaps this is the cover?
12. Not Meant to Be (Theory of a Deadman) - My younger daughter introduced me to this song.
13. Sweet Sixteen (B.B. King) - King of the blues.
14. Jackie Blue (Ozark Mountain Daredevils) - Was this a one-hit-wonder? Offhand I can't think of anything else they did.
15. We Bow in its Aura (Veil of Maya) - Death Metal. It's what my son listens to these days.

Please put me down for numbers 3 and 10, and send the remaining 3,498 by surface mail. Thanks.
Lovely post.
Have a nice day, Boonie
I can see I'm going to have to get busy with google and yahoo - sad to say I have only heard three of these songs.
They all look like great songs to me, Kelly. (I just listened to "Love Minus Zero" by Bob Dylan and it blew me away. Awesome lyrics!)
I've been listening to Hearts of Space (www.hos.com) today. I got hooked on that public radio program many, many years ago and they offer a free onbe-hour program on Sundays only at their site. Hearts of Space plays from 10 p.m. to midnight here on our public radio station and it's serenaded me to sleep many a night. Great post. Blessings!
In the still of the Night was written by a member of the Five Satins - Fred Parris. The Five Satins recorded the song in 1956 and was one of the early doowop hits. Boyz II Men also did a version in 1992.
I love "Stoned Love" almost more than anything the Supremes did. We have the same favorite Cat Stevens' LP, but I probably would have "Sitting" on my keep list (although, there wasn't a bad song in the bunch.)
I had not heard George Benson do "Nature Boy", so I caught it on youtube and it was wonderful. I think I still like Aaron Neville's better...and of course, Nat King Cole's. My parents played it until there were no grooves left on the LP.
The Five Satins did have the "Still of the Night" you remember. The Boyz II Men version is a capella...very nice. The Beach Boys and Paul Anka also recorded it, but I don't think anything outdid the original.
I loved the Ozark Mt. Daredevils! What about "If You Wanna Get to Heaven (You Got to Raise A Little Hell). This band still performs from time to time, and I think they have all the originals!
Loved the ipod list for the month!

Sound like great songs. I've never heard them. Maybe I should check them out on You Tube.
Thanks so much, Kelly for your lovely comments!
Always great to hear from you!

At last. My p/c got fixed! Thought it's time to visit my favourite blogs!
Boonie - Good taste in your choices! (esp. #3)
Tracy & Betty - I got lazy on this post and didn't include any links. Sorry. I'll make a point of doing that from now on... especially on the more obscure songs. Btw...which three did you know, Tracy?
Mike - Thanks for clearing that up. I knew I could count on you!
Marion - I wasn't familiar with Hearts of Space. Thanks for the info!
Quid - I'll agree about Catch Bull at Four. Probably my faves, though, are Sitting and 18th Avenue. Oh...and I do know that other OMD song you named.
Am I the only one who doesn't have an iPod yet? I like Theory of a Deadman.
Like many of those songs. I rarely use my ipod but am currently enjoying the music the boys ( mostly Sam) like to listen to in the car. I found I like rap, hip hop and lots of the artists like Gaga, Usher, B.O.B., Katy Perry, Train, Emminem, etc.
Jazz is about the only genre of music I don't really like.
Wow ... 3500 songs. I guess that accounts for the diversity of the songs in these posts!
Death metal. It's what my son listens to these days.
