Airplane photos

For those of you who seemed entertained by the thought of me as a pilot, I dug out a couple of photos to share with you. The top photo is my flight instructor and me standing in front of the airplane I learned to fly in, a 2-seater Cessna. If I remember correctly, the photo was taken right after I made my first solo flight. It's the same plane I was in when the incident I described here took place.

The lower photo, a Piper Cherokee Warrior, is the airplane my husband and I bought into with several of my husband's cousins. A 4-seater, it was more practical than the Cessna rental we learned in.

I still find it so hard to believe that you and dad can fly planes (or small ones at least). One of your many talents!
Love you <3

Wow I'm impressed! One of my closest friends is a pilot for British airways. He was a fighter pilot the RAF.

So now I know where to go if i need a lift!

That is very very awesome! I would love to fly a plane - apart from the fact that I always get plane sick. Perhaps it's like in a car - you're only sick when you're the passenger?

Vic - You did fly with me. In utero, perhaps, but still you flew with me. :)

Joey - You'd better stick with your BA pal. I'm not current and might give you a scare!

Cruella - It might work that way. I do know I'm afraid of heights (do NOT put me on a ferris wheel or even make me use a step ladder!), but looking down from the plane never bothered me.

If ever I win the lotto, the US Canada or Australia will be one of my first stops to learn how to fly. I have notions about a bi-plane.
Oh, even with a lotto win learning to fly here would be an arm and a leg, such that the only people that learn do so with a commission.

I think it's cool that you can fly, Sis! That's the LAST thing I could see me doing!!

NOT one of my talents by any stretch!!

I'd fly with you, tho.

Maybe....

That is so great!

Vince - It was the cost, in part, that led to us giving up the plane and the hobby.

Jenners - Fortunately with VFR (visual flight rules, meaning nice weather) flying there isn't a huge amount of turbulence.

Pam - I'm surprised I never took you for a ride.

Algernon - Still kinda impresses me, too, when I look back on it!
:)

i can remember you talking of having a pilot's licence a while ago but to see these photographs is something else - so brave of you Kelly, it takes me all my time to board a plane let alone fly one.

I'm lovin' it! Great photos! I'm a little nervous to be up in one of these, let alone fly it. We're all impressed, for good reason.

Tracy, Quid - I was younger and braver then. I'm not so sure I'd still want to do it anymore (though I have spent a lot of time thinking back since I posted this...)

John - I cringe to think what it would cost to take lessons now what with the price of fuel!
