I was sad when Gerry Rafferty died earlier this month. My favorite of his songs, Baker Street, made my "favorite five - songs" list that I posted last year. It was released in February of 1978 and I spent that summer studying in England. Brings back great memories!

Fabulous song!!! Blessings!
Yow. I had not heard that he had died. I read his obituary as 'Baker Street' played via your site, and it all just seemed to fit, somehow. The song just seemed to fit.
I hadn't heard that he died. He did have some great songs that you never get tired of.
It's a lovely song indeed.
Did you have a butcher's at baker Street whilst you were there?
All the best, Boonie
I have to confess you stumped me there, Boonie, and I had to look up that phrase! And in response... only at the Sherlock Holmes statue near the entrance to the Underground station.
Thanks for this Kelly.
Yes, a sad loss.
Sad news, another great loss to the music world.
I didn't recognize the name of the artist but only had to hear the first few notes before I knew the song. I love it.
So sad to hear he's gone.
Appreciate you blogging thiis
