I like to think events like the recent earthquake in Haiti bring out the generous, humanitarian spirit in most of us. However, knowing exactly where to give can sometimes be a problem. If it all seems a little confusing to you, here's a good website our pastor shared with us this morning:
On the receiving end, yesterday was my lucky day. I was a winner over at DJS Krimiblog and received a $15 gift voucher from Amazon! Thanks Dorte!

On the news they keep stressing that the quickest way to give where it's needed ( also fastest way to get aid where needed) is through the big names such as UNICEF and Red Cross. These agencies are already on the ground and what they need right now most is money.
Such a sad, horrific, almost overwhelming humanitarian disaster.
I say the most efficient way to give is thru the Red Cross. Donate money and only money.
The Charity Navigator site has really been of benefit to me in the past. This disaster weighs heavily on my mind. In a disaster situation (some of the US hurricanes, and who knows, maybe California before this week is through) I give time to the American Red Cross. In this particular disaster, I chose Doctors Without Borders as my choice for contribution.
