I've always been a fan of cold breakfast cereal. That's not to say I don't enjoy oatmeal, muffins, eggs, pancakes and other breakfast fare, but most mornings it's just cold cereal with soy milk. Actually, I don't limit cereal (or any other traditional breakfast food) to my morning meal. Any of the above make a great lunch or supper!
There aren't many cereals I don't like, however these are the varieties most often found in my pantry.
1. (Quaker Oats) Honey Graham Oh!s - I love these so much I devoted an entire entry to them on my old blog. They are my all-time favorite.
2. (Post) Honey Bunches of Oats with Pecan Clusters - This is their newest variety. I also like the original and the version with Real Peaches.
3. (Kellogg) Special K Red Berries - They have several more twists on the theme, but this strawberry version remains the best.
4. (Post) Grape-Nuts - My favorite way to eat this as a kid was with half & half rather than milk. My kids liked it warmed in the microwave with syrup and milk. As an adult I prefer it with light soy milk and a sprinkling of white sugar... and I like it cold and crunchy.
5. (General Mills) Honey Nut Cheerios - I think the company got in some trouble recently for making claims about the effectiveness of Cheerios as a "heart healthy" food. Regardless, they're certainly better for you than a lot of the options out there.

Fun! Here are mine:
1. (Kellogg) Special K ... Protein
This is the best cereal for me. The carbs I give up are more than offset by the protein factor.
2. (Kellogg) Special K ... Cinnamon Pecan Better than 1; but more sugar and less pro.
3. Cinnamon Toast Crunch ... don't get to crunch much any more
4. (General Mills) Honey Nut Cheerios - So good.
5. TOTAL or WHEATIES toss up. But I don't eat either anymore
Cold cereal is a casualty of diabetes.
12345 - LUCKY CHARMS
Victoria:
1. Special K Redberry
2. Reeses Puffs
3. Fruity Pebbles
4. Cinammon Life
5. Oh!s
I'm afraid I only like one cereal, as in really like enough to eat on a semi-regular basis.
Raisin Bran Crunch
I've dabbled in my Connor's Special K Chocolate Delight.
That's about it for my cereals.
I actually prefer Pepperidge Farm mini-wheat bagels in the morning. With creme cheese (1/3 fat).
Cereal, its a comfort food that you often don't recognize as a comfort food. As much as we go for our favorites because they taste good, It's not so much the actually goodness of taste as much as it is the goodness of memories.
1. Fruity Pebbles (Childhood memory. Only on special occasions did we get fruity pebbles. They leave a terrible after taste, but is was more of that sheer excitement of getting to eat it, of our parents actually buying a cereal that we requested.
2. Lucky Charms. I hate it when the marshmellows are stale. It totally ruins the entire box. But it is nevertheless one of the best cereals ever.
3. Cinnamon Life. Cereal of choice as a college student. Perfect for after a long day or a long basketball game. Sweet, filling, and perfect with just the right amount of milk.
4. Frosted Mini-Wheats. As a child, it was somewhat of a disappointment when we had mini-wheats because they are not as cool as like Lucky Charms. This was always Dad's pick of cereal. Now, I always buy it when I need a boost of love because its like sitting up, late at night, watching tv with dad, while crunching on our cereal.
5. Honey bunches of oats. I rarely buy this cereal, probably because its a smaller box at a higher price. Nevertheless, so good. I love the clusters! Plus, makes the best cereal commercials.
Kelly,
In my case, breakfast is simple. I eat yogurt with raisins.
Raven
I generally have toast with fruit and sometimes a yoghurt for breakfast but I also like cereal.
1. Porridge but only if Husband dearest has made it - nobody else makes it how I like it.
2. Special K but only the original version. I hate the one with all that dried fruit, yuk. If I want fruit with it, I'll add a chopped banana.
3. Crunchy Nut Cornflakes.
4. Weetabix.
5. Oatabix.
