America the Beautiful Quarters

I had no idea that the U.S. Mint was embarking on another extensive quarter program, this time featuring national parks and other sites of interest. I was even more surprised to see that Hot Springs National Park (in my own state of Arkansas) will be on the first quarter minted! The land was first set aside by the federal government in 1832, before Arkansas became a state in 1836.

Here are a couple of links about the program if you want to know more:

That's interesting, Kelly. I'll have to notice my quarters now. LOL! I wonder if there are any swamps from my great state on them? Blessings!

Hi Kelly, Just making sure, a quarter is a coin, right?
In England earlier this year a load of 20p coins were falsely minted (there was no year stamped on them) - anyone finding such a coin could 'sell' it back to the mint for fifty pounds or send away for a special presentation box to keep it in as it is predicted they will be worth a lot of money in years to come.

Kelly, I meant to tell you that the email address I use most often is dragonfly80@hotmail.com. I've had that one for ten years and it's my main one.

Hey, it's finally RAINING! Woo-Hoo! I love it!!!

Yep, Tracy... quarters are coins. Wow! 50 pounds for a 20p coin??? Even if it were more valuable as a collector item it would be hard to turn that down! Makes me think of when they print stamps with mistakes that become valuable.

Thanks, Marion. I might just delete all the others from my address book so I won't forget, LOL!
